How do I Share an Activity with Nike Innovation?

Once you’ve created your profile in the Nike Innovation App you’ll need to complete a few steps to start sharing your activity.

Read and agree to the “Nike Sport Research Lab” Informed Consent document that details how Nike Research will use your data. This is required to participate in research studies.

Apple Health settings will open automatically. Allow the Innovation App to read and write all data fields. You can choose all or only some metrics.

Before your first run, verify that your preferred fitness app is properly connected to Apple Health. Open iOS Settings > Privacy & Security > Select the Health App. Select your preferred fitness app from the list and confirm all Health metrics are toggled “on.”

Enable background app refresh by going to Settings > Nike Innovation. If not enabled, you’ll need to manually open the app to sync activities to your Activity List.

Now you’re ready to track your activities! Have some fun and move the way you want. Feel free to keep to your current routine, whether that be a walk, run, or somewhere in between. You'll get a notification from Nike Innovation to complete a short survey after your activity syncs.

Can I use my Android device to share my activity?

No, only iOS devices are supported at this time.

Why isn’t my run on my Activity List in the Nike Innovation App?

There are a few possible reasons your run isn’t displaying in your Activity List:

  • Nike Innovation App isn’t connected to Apple Health: Go to Settings > Privacy & Security > Health App, select the Innovation App and toggle on all metrics.
  • Preferred fitness app isn’t connected to the Innovation App: Go to Settings > Privacy & Security > Health App, select your fitness app and toggle on all metrics.
  • Preferred fitness app isn’t listed under the Health App: You’ll need to go to your app’s settings and connect it to Apple Health. Once connected, go back to the Health App and toggle on all metrics.

Why didn’t I get a notification to complete a run survey?

If you didn’t get a push notification to complete a post-run survey, go to Settings > Notifications > Nike Innovation and toggle notifications to “on.”

If notifications are not enabled, you’ll need to open the app to complete your survey.

If you have notifications enabled, refer to “Why isn’t my run on my Activity List in the Innovation App” to make sure your fitness app to connected properly.

How to tag the shoe I used for my run?

The easiest way is to use the model name and version number when answering a post-run survey. They’ll be listed on the tongue, side of the shoe, or the heel of the shoe. If you can’t find your shoe in the survey, select “My Shoe is Not Listed” to answer the shoe survey questions.

How does the Nike Innovation App use my data?

To be perfectly clear: we never sell your data shared in the Innovation App. Your data will be used to inform our studies to influence future innovations and empower all athletes. Refer to the Nike Innovation Privacy Policy to learn more about how your data is used and exercising your rights in relation to your personal data

What do I do if there is an “unexpected issue” error message when I open the app?

Tap “Okay” and continue to log-in to the app. Your activities and surveys should still be listed in the Activity List within the app.

How do I stop sharing my activity data with the Nike Innovation App?
